Betty Foy Botts creates art driven by spirit, embracing the mystery that unfolds through the act of painting. Working primarily on birch panels, she sees herself as a vessel, allowing intuition to guide her process as she relinquishes control and responds instinctively. Each piece reflects a journey of transformation, evolving organically as paint meets surface.
Botts draws inspiration for her wildlife abstracts from the Bible, titling her works with verses that capture their essence. The daughter of Georgia Governor Carl E. Sanders and artist Betty Foy Sanders, she grew up immersed in the arts. Her mother’s accomplishments in fine art and the Georgia arts community remain a profound influence on her work.
Based in Atlanta, Botts is widely collected by individuals and corporations across the Southeast and is part of the Betty Foy Sanders Art Collection at Georgia Southern University.
